Metascientific.com offers a wide array of microscope accessories to help adapt or customise your microscope to meet your particular needs.
In addition to accessories for microscopes we also supply refractometers, polarimeters, magnifiers and other general accessories such as dissection instruments and slides.
Refractometers are used for the identification of substances or to measure concentrations in fluids. Because the refractive index (R.I.) of a solution is proportional to the concentration it is easy to identify the substance or to measure the purity and concentrations of solutions. The Euromex refractometers are calibrated at 20º Celsius. Most refractometers are equipped with Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC). (See Refractometer Chart)
Digital hand refractometers The latest technology for measuring refractive indices. The sample is illuminated by a LED light source while an optical sensor measures the percentage of reflection from the sample. With the refractive index the device calculates the concentration. With ATC.
Traditional hand refractometers Only a few drops of the liquid are necessary to read the refractive index straight from the built-in scale. Most of Euromex refractometers are equipped with an ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation). Euromex refractometers can be supplied with specific scales.

The purity and concentration of an optically active substances can be determined with polarimeter. An optically active substance will rotate the polarization plane of linear polarized light. The amount of rotation is dependant on the molecular composition and is proportional to the concentration of chiral molecules. Each optically active substance has his specific rotation factor as defined by Biot's law
Polarimeters are frequently used for process control of chemical, pharmaceutical and food research labs of production facilities. Some substances that can be measured are: steroids, diuretics, antibiotics, drugs, vitamin, analgesics, amino acids, essential oils and sugars

Light is crucial for microscopy and macroscopy in order to see the essential details of objects. Good illumination of the specimen will give improved contrast to the image; therefore selection of the correct illumination for a given object is vital.
LEDs are the newest technology for illumination in microscopy that have gained acceptance in both quality control applications and in production. These illumination solutions can be diffuse or optimised with dedicated Fresnel lenses for shorter or longer working distances. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have the advantage of being a cold light source with a constant spectral output over very long life times.
The LE.1990 and LE.1991 are equipped with 72 high power LEDs. The LE.1990 and LE.1991 are equipped with 72 high power LEDs and can be mounted on stereo heads with diameters from 60 and 66 mm.

A fluorescent lamp is filled with mercury vapor and a noble gas and the inner surface is coated with a fluorescent coating. This coating will emit visible light when short wave UV light - generated by the gas-discharge exited mercury atoms - hit the coating. The fluorescent lamp produces more light than an incandescent lamp. Also heat production is much lower
For incident illumination of objects. Colour temperature maximum 4300°K. Suitable for all Zoom-Stereomicroscopes of the Euromex Z Series, except ZE.1659. For 230 Volts operation.

Spectroscopes are used to visualise the light spectrum of the light source of transparent substances. Euromex hand spectroscopes SP-5100, SP-5150 and SP-5155 are being used for optical experiments in natural sciences education.
The Euromex hand spectroscope SP-5200 has a wavelength scale of 400 - 700 nm. When transparent solid substances, liquids or gas is placed between the light source and spectroscope, the specific spectrum of these substances are visible. The SP-5200 is also used for gem determination
The Euromex table spectrometer is used to determine the refraction-index to measure the refraction angle, to measure the angle of minimal deviation and for dispersion measurments. This spectrometer is used for optical experiments in natural sciences classes

The Euromex HD-Ultra, HD-Lite, HD-Mini and HD-Autofocus cameras offer the perfect solution to modern microscopy for industry and laboratories where real time images are needed. These HD image quality cameras can be used with biological, metallurgical or stereo microscopes.
The cameras are equipped with high sensitive sensors for low and intense light conditions and also suitable for coaxial illumination and
The real time images generated with these camera provide excellent color rendering with frame speeds up to 60 fps. All settings are done automatically and therefore very user friendly. Once connected directly to a HDMI screen, TV or beamer with HDMI input, one can use the mouse-driven onboard software of the HD-Ultra and HD-Lite to capture and save images and videos (.avi format) on the integrated SD memory card.
There are two ways to use the HD-Ultra (ref. VC.3036) and HD-Lite (ref. VC.3031) cameras, computer controlled or as stand-alone system. When operatiing Stand-Alone there is no need to use a computer or require any computer knowledge to use a camera. This results in faster, more flexible and compact working conditions. Simply plug the camera to a high resolution HDMI monitor or TV and the system is ready to go. Ideal for quality control systems etc Although most settings are done automatically by the camera, one can use the supplied mouse to control the camera via a user retrievable on-screen menu. The mouse is connected directly to the camera. Very intuitive controls allow users to capture and save images and to record videos on the integrated SD memory card
Users who want more camera controls and more measurements functions, can connect the camera to a computer and make use of the Euromex ImageFocus software which runs on Windows XP, Vista 7,Windows 8 and 10, both 32 and 64 bit versions and is supplied with the camera package.

PathoScanner 10,000 DPI slide scanner
In pathology, histology and other medical fields,
medical professionals look at tissue slides under a
microscope. Often the tissue are stained to highlight
certain structures enabling the specialists to
perform their analysis. Euromex now introduces
a digital solution for these specialists
The PathoScan digital microscope slide scanner
produces quick, reliable and high-resolution digital
images of cells. Once the slides are digitized there
are numerous advantages against classic microscopy
Users have the ability to upload the scanned images onto a network for sharing and collaboration among colleagues, resulting in better and faster diagnostics. The scanned slides can also be used for education purposes. Digitized slides also can be analyzed using the specialists own dedicated software. The software can be used to automate the manual counting of structures, or for classifying the condition of tissue such as is used in grading tumors

The Student Measuring Graticule is a 0-10mm scale subdivided into 0.1mm divisions, each of the millimetre subdivisions are numbered 0-10 suitable for most school microscope and laboratory measurement.
The graticules are on 0.18mm thick polyester film to maintain flatness and are supplied in two strips of five. The strips can be easily cut and trimmed with scissors, cutting guidelines of 16, 19 and 21mm diameters are shown for various microscope eyepieces. The graticules can be used to provide a scale for use with a magnifying glass or mounted on a microscope slide as a stage micrometer.
